Indigi-Kitchen
Indigi-Kitchen is an online cooking show run by Mariah Gladstone (Cherokee, Blackfeet) and Kenneth Cook (Onondaga). Their webshow focuses both on the health of eating pre-contact native foods and the cultural revitalization that comes with eating traditionally. In their videos, they share recipes using these ingredients and go through the steps with their viewers, so the information is accessible even to those who aren’t as familiar with cooking. Additionally, many of their recipes are posted on their website.
Indigi-Kitchen allows people to better understand how to turn the plants they’ve grown outside into nourishing, delicious meals for the table, tackling a step of the food cycle that food security initiatives seldom do.
